M1 Lindenwood University hangs on, beats M1 Davenport University 2-1

The M1 Lindenwood University Lions took the lead against the M1 Davenport University Panthers in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-1 victory.

Graham Zagrodney provided M1 Lindenwood University with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:10 into the first period. Brennan Luscombe assisted on the tally.

The Lions' Michael Hails was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 37 saves and let only one puck past him. Hails certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.33 entering the contest.

M1 Lindenwood University was sparked by Jake Fairchild, who had one goal. Fairchild scored on the power play 5:31 into the second period to make the score 2-0 M1 Lindenwood University. Stephen Bopp picked up the assist.

The Lions got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. M1 Lindenwood University put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 4.0 it averages per game.

More assists for M1 Lindenwood University came via Tommy Heinzman and Michael Lozano, who each chipped in one.

M1 Davenport University was held below its usual level of production. The Panthers average 3.3 goals per game. M1 Davenport University did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. The Lions were unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and M1 Davenport University eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

The Panthers were led by Jordan Simmonds, who scored the team's only goal. Simmonds scored 12:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M1 Lindenwood University. Kody Polin provided the assist.

M1 Lindenwood University incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Matt Kaludis recorded 33 saves for M1 Davenport University. The Panthers registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
