Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Grimsby Peach Kings battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Glanbrook Rangers. Grimsby never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Peach Kings fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Glanbrook's Noah Matteson at 5:36 in the first period. Grimsby knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Garnet McComber at 4:53 in the second period. The Peach Kings netted the game winner at 15:23 in the third period on a goal by McComber. With the win, Grimsby avoided elimination to make the series score 3-4 in the best of seven series. McComber had a great game for the Peach Kings, netting two goals. Addison DeTullio also scored for Grimsby. Other players who recorded assists for Grimsby were Aidan Board, Curtis Conrad, and Brady Cranwell, who each chipped in one. The Rangers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying only one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. Glanbrook also got a goal from Garnet Batrynchuk as well. Grimsby's Jeremy Currie stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Peach Kings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Zach Moore recorded 17 saves for Glanbrook. The Rangers registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. |
