Kingston Jr. Vees rolls over Whitby Blue, 8-4

Kingston Jr. Vees got the win thanks to a great game by Andrew Suriyuth, who had two goals and one assist. Suriyuth scored the first of his two goals short handed at 19:48 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Kingston Jr. Vees. Suriyuth's next tally short handed made the score 8-4 Kingston Jr. Vees in the third period.

In a losing effort, Whitby Blue were led by Nicolas Bigoni, who tallied two goals and one assist. Bigoni scored the first of his two goals at 1:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1 . The goal was assisted by Matthew Hubbarde and Brett Poulin. Bigoni's next tally made the score 4-3 Kingston Jr. Vees in the second period. Liam McCrory provided the assist.

Kingston Jr. Vees put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Whitby Blue to score on any of their three power plays.Kingston Jr. Vees found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Kingston Jr. Vees has scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kingston Jr. Vees also got points from Dexter Hughson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kingston Jr. Vees included Hunter Drew, who had one and Nelison Powers and Ryan Gibson, who scored two goals each. More assists for Kingston Jr. Vees came via Evan Hunt, Tory Bowditch, Hunter Leonard, and Elliot Goulah, who contributed one apiece.

Whitby Blue managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Whitby Blue finished below its season average of 6 penalty minutes per game.

Whitby Blue additionally got points from Poulin, who also registered one goal and two assists and Patrick Demaio, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Whitby Blue received assists from McCrory and Hubbarde, who each chipped in one.

Kingston Jr. Vees incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Whitby Blue incurred two minutes in penalty time with one minor.
