Walkerton falls to Kincardine in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Kincardine Bulldogs' Dalton Hnatko scored 12:57 into overtime to beat the Walkerton Hawks, 5-4 (OT).

With the win, Kincardine avoided elimination to make the series score 3-4 in the best of seven series.

The Bulldogs overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Kincardine fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Walkerton's Spencer Elder at 17:09 in the first period. The Bulldogs tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Eric Langridge at 19:37 in the third period.

Kincardine was sparked by Hnatko, who had one goal.

The Bulldogs kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nick Redman made 35 saves on 40 shots.

Kincardine additionally got points from Shawn Moore, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kincardine also had goals scored by Keegan Angel and Derrick Bernath, who each put in one. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Tyler Fregona, who had one and Gerrit Satosek, who had two.

Walkerton was led by Reid Simmons, who registered one goal and one assist. Simmons scored 15:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Walkerton. Chris Gillman picked up the assist. Others who scored for Walkerton included Josh Deyell and Ryan Hamelin, who scored one goal each.

Jacob Hutchings made 23 saves for Kincardine on 27 shots. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
