Layman's big game bests LaSalle in 8-5 Sarnia win

With the win, Sarnia evened the series at two-two in the best of seven showdown

In a losing effort, LaSalle were paced by Brett Primeau, who had two goals and one assist. Primeau scored the first of his two goals at 16:14 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Sarnia. The score was assisted by Daniel Beaudoin and Tyler Russell. Primeau's next tally made the score 5-5 in the third period. The goal was assisted by Matthew Doucette and Nathan Savage.

Legionnaires were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on nine chances.Sarnia kept LaSalle's goalie busy throughout the game, and Paolo Battisti made five saves on 31 shots.

Sarnia also got points from Joey Zappa, who also registered one goal and two assists and Brendan Shagena, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Sarnia included Ryan Trottier and Alec DeKoning, who scored one each. More assists for Sarnia came via Brett Storr and Brock Perry, who contributed two apiece and Hunter Tyczynski, who had one.

Vipers kept Legionnaires's goalie busy throughout the game, and Shayne Battler made 26 saves on 31 shots.

LaSalle also had goals scored by Blake Jones, Manny Silverio, and Brett Banwell, who each put in one. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Russell, who had three, Beaudoin, who had two, and Savage, Maddux Rychel, Connor Rosaasen, and Doucette, who each chipped in one.

Sarnia incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. LaSalle incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
