Harris leads Kingston over Cobourg, 5-2

Behind a great game by Ian Harris, who had two goals and one assist, the Kingston Voyageurs defeated the Cobourg Cougars, 5-2.

Harris scored at 4:00 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Kingston and again while on the power play 12:14 into the third to make the score 5-2 Kingston.

The win gave Kingston a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Voyageurs forced Cobourg's goalies to work without much rest, firing 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Stefano Durante made 25 stops and Tyler Lewis made seven. Kingston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Kingston additionally got points from Brandon Nadeau, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kingston also had goals scored by Colin Tonge and Connor Cobbold, who scored one goal each. More assists for Kingston came via Josh Hardiman, Zachary Emelifeonwu, Danny Bosio, Anthony Rinaldi, Jakob Brahaney, Reid Russell, and Jack Zielinski, who contributed one each.

The Cougars' offense rang up 33 shots on the Voyageurs' net.

Cobourg was helped by Austin Kozluk, who grabbed one goal. Kozluk scored 14:36 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Brennan Roy picked up the assist. Cobourg also got a goal from Matt Carroll as well. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Justin Bennett and Ryan Casselman, who each chipped in one.

David Richer rejected 31 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. The Cougars incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors.
