Lee stymies Toronto Jr. Canadiens, Burlington wins 2-1

Andrew Lee stood on his head and made 30 saves to lead the Burlington Cougars to a 2-1 victory over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens.

The win gave Burlington a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Cougars pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Burlington was led by Stefano Alonzi, who racked up one goal. Alonzi scored 12:34 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Burlington. Ben Morris provided the assist.

Chris Cobham also scored for Burlington. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Jordan Peacock, who had one and Kevin Dimagno, who had two.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced the Cougars goalie Lee to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

The Junior Canadiens were led by Cody Symonds, who scored the team's only goal. Symonds scored on the power play 10:44 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Toronto Jr. Canadiens had gained a power play chance when Cobham was whistled for slashing. Connor Beck picked up the assist.

Burlington registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Daniel Lopapa made 20 saves for the Junior Canadiens on 22 shots. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
