St. Catharines rips Welland, 6-1

The win by St. Catharines broke a deadlock and gave St. Catharines a two-one advantage in the best of seven series.

Falcons were sparked by Mitchell Webb, who registered one goal. Webb scored in the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. Tyler Hildebrandt and Anthony Postiglione registered the assists on the goal.

St. Catharines did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up only one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time.Falcons kept Welland's goalie busy throughout the game, and Chris Janzen made 39 saves on 45 shots.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Hildebrandt, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jake Evans, who also registered one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also had goals scored by Tyler Jackson, who had one and Nicholas Dozzi, who had two. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from James Guest and Postiglione, who each chipped in two and Brandon Cercone and Broderick Kelly, who contributed one apiece.

Jr. Canadians were led by Steven Farano, who scored the team's only goal. Farano scored in the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines.

Joel Horodziejczyk recorded 20 saves for St. Catharines. Falcons incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor. Welland incurred ten minutes in penalty time with five minors.
