Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as WATERLOO defeated NEPEAN in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO). The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, NEPEAN faces elimination next time out. NEPEAN was stymied by WATERLOO's netminder Cohen Myers, who stopped 33 shots during the victory. Despite the solid performance, Myers will actually see her goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest. WATERLOO's penalty kill excelled, as WATERLOO gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. WATERLOO stifled NEPEAN's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. NEPEAN was unable to stop WATERLOO from sending pucks towards the net, and WATERLOO eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. WATERLOO was led by Megan Fergusson, who racked up one goal. Fergusson scored 4:22 into the second period to make the score 1-0 WATERLOO. Carley Olivier provided the assist. In addition, WATERLOO received assists from Brooklyn Cole, who had one. NEPEAN stifled WATERLOO's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. NEPEAN's offense rang up 34 shots on WATERLOO's net. NEPEAN was led by Samantha Bouley, who scored the team's only goal. Bouley scored 7:33 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kristen MacIntyre picked up the assist. WATERLOO incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. NEPEAN's Celine Tessier stopped 35 shots out of the 36 that she faced. NEPEAN incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
