The game between OTTAWA and WHITBY was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end OTTAWA emerged with a 4-3 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Tasza Tarnowski (C) secured the win for OTTAWA with a goal in the third period. With the win, OTTAWA evened the series at 1-1 in the best of five showdown. Tarnowski (C) had two goals to lead OTTAWA to victory. OTTAWA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four WHITBY power plays. OTTAWA also had goals scored by Maggie Knott (A) and Shana Alexander, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for OTTAWA were Coralie Larose, who had two and Sophie Veronneau (A), Melissa Simard, Anonda Hoppner (A), Jensen Smigelsky, Katherine Chadwick, and Maddison Stitt, who contributed one each. WHITBY put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OTTAWA to score on any of its three power plays. WHITBY was led by Maya Patel, who racked up one goal and one assist. Patel scored 5:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 WHITBY. Emily Reid assisted on the tally. Others who scored for WHITBY included Alicia Pallister and Katie Mikkelsen, who scored one goal each. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Hailey Wilson, Nikita Boardman, Brooke McQuigge, and Breanna Bedborough, who each chipped in one. OTTAWA's Jennifer Walker stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that she faced. OTTAWA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rachel McQuigge made 13 saves for WHITBY on 17 shots. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
