WHITBY completes comeback, beats OTTAWA, 3-2

WHITBY climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat OTTAWA, 3-2.

WHITBY never led in the game until netting the game winner. WHITBY fell behind 2-0 after a goal by OTTAWA's Coralie Larose at 12:48 in the second period. WHITBY tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Briana Colangelo at 5:30 in the third period. WHITBY netted the game winner at 10:30 in the third period on a goal by Colangelo.

The win gave WHITBY a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

WHITBY was paced by Breanna Bedborough, who racked up one goal.

WHITBY forced OTTAWA goalie Kailen Jeffries to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

WHITBY additionally got points from Colangelo, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. WHITBY also got a goal from Makayla Mori as well. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Katie Mikkelsen, who had two and Brooklyn Bastarache and Hailey Wilson, who each chipped in one.

OTTAWA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

OTTAWA was helped by Shana Alexander, who tallied one goal. Alexander scored 10:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 OTTAWA. Sophie Veronneau (A) assisted on the tally. More assists for OTTAWA came via Jensen Smigelsky, Katherine Chadwick, and Tasza Tarnowski (C), who contributed one each.

Emma Schram made 13 saves for WHITBY on 15 shots. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jeffries rejected 28 shots on goal for OTTAWA. OTTAWA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
