MISSISSAUGA rolls over BARRIE, 3-0

The win by MISSISSAUGA clinched the best of five series at zero-three

MISSISSAUGA pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 20 penalty minutes.

MISSISSAUGA stifled BARRIE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

MISSISSAUGA were led by Brooke Bonsteel (A), who grabbed two goals.Bonsteel (A) scored the first of her two goals at 14:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA. Stephanie Gava claimed the first assist on the goal, and Samantha McCluskey got the second. Bonsteel (A)'s next tally made the score 3-0 MISSISSAUGA in the third period. Gava and Jordan Marchese registered the assists on the goal.MISSISSAUGA also had goals scored by Natalie Marcuzzi (A), who had one and Bonsteel (A), who had two. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Gava, who had two and Marchese, McCluskey, Kaelyn Johnson, and Mikyla Grant-Mentis, who each chipped in one.

BARRIE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow MISSISSAUGA to score on any of their four power plays.

Carmen Lasis made 19 saves for MISSISSAUGA on 19 shots. MISSISSAUGA incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with ten minors. Briar Hughes recorded 25 saves for BARRIE. BARRIE incurred ten minutes in penalty time with five minors.
