M2 Northeastern University survives M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut comeback, wins 2-1

M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but M2 Northeastern University held on for a 2-1 victory.

A goal by Connor Mccarron put M2 Northeastern University up 2-0 in the second period, but M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut pulled to within one on Sam Mannion's tally 13:24 into the third period.

M2 Northeastern University was led by goalie Zachary Webert, who finished with 41 saves while allowing one goal. Webert certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.98 entering the contest.

M2 Northeastern University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut power plays. M2 Northeastern University kept M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut's goalie busy throughout the game, and Liam Mcbain made 40 saves on 42 shots.

Connor Twaddle also scored for M2 Northeastern University. In addition, M2 Northeastern University received assists from Evan Jones and Ian Penvose, who each chipped in one.

M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut stifled M2 Northeastern University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut forced M2 Northeastern University goalie Webert to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut were Teodoro Camadella, who had one.

M2 Northeastern University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
