Marotta nets hat trick, leads M2 Boston University to 9-2 win over M2 Rutgers University

Riley Marotta lifted M2 Boston University to a 9-2 victory with a hat trick against M2 Rutgers University.

Marotta notched his first tally 31 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 10:44 into the second and at 5:48 into the third.

M2 Boston University led 6-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

M2 Boston University kept M2 Rutgers University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Krynicki made 62 saves on 71 shots.

M2 Boston University also got points from Ken Mackin, who also had one goal and two assists, Matthew Fineberg, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Lucas Esposito, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Michael Minarczyk, who also registered one goal and one assist. M2 Boston University also had goals scored by Dan Sutterman and John Faso, who each put in one. In addition, M2 Boston University received assists from Alex Balbo, Temur Hannan, Nick Lupo, and Tyler Trubish, who each chipped in one and Dillon Schuyler and Taylor Parkinson, who contributed three each.

M2 Rutgers University found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere eight shots against M2 Boston University's defense.

Jared Hynes made six saves for M2 Boston University on eight shots. M2 Boston University finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-2 with the man advantage. M2 Rutgers University incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
