TORONTO completes comeback, beats BLUEWATER, 3-2

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, TORONTO battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over BLUEWATER.

TORONTO never led in the game until netting the game winner. TORONTO trailed 2-0 after a goal by BLUEWATER's Bridgid Goris at 9:32 in the second period. TORONTO tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Claire Thompson (A) at 12:55 in the third period. TORONTO got the game winner at 14:28 in the third period on a goal by Thompson (A).

The win by TORONTO clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

Haley Shugart and Thompson (A) provided the spark for TORONTO, combining for two goals and four assists. Shugart racked up one goal and two assists and Thompson (A) also notched one goal and two assists.

TORONTO forced BLUEWATER goalie Morgan Baker to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

TORONTO additionally got points from Thompson (A), who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Neve Van Pelt, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for TORONTO came via Emma Buckles, who had one.

In addition, BLUEWATER received assists from Gillian Foote, Olivia Lynch, Emma Forcey (C), and Sierra Burt (A), who contributed one each.

Kayla Wormsbecher recorded 13 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. BLUEWATER's Baker stopped 43 shots out of the 46 that she faced. BLUEWATER totaled 27 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. For BLUEWATER, Carly Wouters (A) was ejected from the game.
