TORONTO blows out BLUEWATER, 5-0

TORONTO had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over BLUEWATER.

The win gave TORONTO a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

TORONTO was led by Blaire Allison, who racked up one goal. Allison scored 11:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO. Haley Shugart picked up the assist.

TORONTO forced BLUEWATER's goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots and forcing 29 saves. Morgan Baker made 22 stops and Holly Scott made seven. TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

TORONTO also got points from Shugart, who also registered one goal and two assists, Celine Frappier (C), who also had two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, and Camryn Tait, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, TORONTO received assists from Claire Thompson (A), Sabrina Repaci (A), and Neve Van Pelt, who each chipped in one.

BLUEWATER's offense was handcuffed by TORONTO's defensive play, and BLUEWATER managed only 13 shots on goal during the game.

TORONTO's Kayla Wormsbecher stopped 13 shots out of the 13 that she faced. TORONTO incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. BLUEWATER incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
