Gangnon lifts Amherstburg over Blenheim, 4-1

Behind a great game by Luke Gangnon, who had two goals, the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals defeated the Blenheim Blades, 4-1.

Gangnon scored short handed at 15:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstburg and again while on the power play 12:07 into the second to make the score 2-1 Amherstburg.

The win by Amherstburg clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

Blenheim was stymied by the Integrity Admirals' netminder Connor Meyerink, who stopped 40 shots during the victory. Meyerink certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.95 entering the contest.

Amherstburg forced the Blades' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 39 shots and forcing 35 saves. Eric Stewardson made 30 stops and Klinton Kenney made five. The Integrity Admirals did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Caleb Paquette also scored for Amherstburg. In addition, Amherstburg received assists from Michael Hatch, Blaine Bechard, Ryan Holzel, and Kasey Basile, who each chipped in one and Dylan Muzzatti and Broden Meloche, who contributed two each.

Blenheim forced Amherstburg goalie Meyerink to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

The Blades were led by Brendan Ritchie, who scored the team's only goal. Ritchie scored on the power play 15:29 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Blenheim had gained a power play chance when Muzzatti was whistled for tripping. Kier Cumming provided the assist.

The Integrity Admirals registered one goal on two power play opportunities. The Blades incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
