LaPointe nets hat trick, leads M1 Syracuse University to 6-3 win over M1 Niagara University

John Ross LaPointe lifted the M1 Syracuse University Orange to a 6-3 victory with a hat trick against the M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles.

LaPointe notched his first tally 17:49 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:36 into the third and at 11:54 into the third.

M1 Niagara University was unable to stop M1 Syracuse University from sending pucks towards the net, and the Orange eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. M1 Syracuse University surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Orange average 3.8 goals per contest.

M1 Syracuse University also got points from Nolan Metzler, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for M1 Syracuse University included Patrick OConnor and Keith Lambert, who scored one goal each. In addition, M1 Syracuse University received assists from Mitchell Lesueur, who had two and Patrick Corcoran, William Franzese, Benjamin King, and Matthew DiVietro, who each chipped in one.

The Purple Eagles forced M1 Syracuse University goalie Jaime Ketchabaw to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

M1 Niagara University was helped by Patrick Gregory, who tallied one goal. Gregory scored on the power play 58 seconds into the second period to make the score 4-2 M1 Syracuse University. Dallas Szustak picked up the assist. M1 Niagara University additionally got points from Zachary Seither, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M1 Niagara University also got a goal from Tyler Stockwell as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Niagara University were Ryan Peters, Dalton Bew, and Ryan Ball, who contributed one each.

Ketchabaw rejected 28 shots on goal for the Orange. M1 Syracuse University incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Purple Eagles' Mike Parda stopped 31 shots out of the 37 that he faced. M1 Niagara University incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
