Fleming leads Exeter to shutout victory over Aylmer

Trevor Fleming was superb between the pipes for the Exeter Hawks, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Aylmer Spitfires.

The win gave Exeter a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Hawks were sparked by Christian Petrozza, who racked up one goal. Petrozza scored 12:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Exeter. Matt Clarke picked up the assist.

Exeter stifled Aylmer's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks forced the Spitfires goalie Andrew Harriman-Duke to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Exeter additionally got points from Brett Dalton, who also registered one goal and one assist and Liam Melady, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Austin Elkin also scored for Exeter. Other players who recorded assists for Exeter were Tyler Kettler, who had one and Chase Thornton, who had two.

Exeter was unable to stop Aylmer from sending pucks towards the net, and the Spitfires eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Trevor Fleming made 32 saves for the Hawks on 32 shots. Exeter incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Aylmer's Harriman-Duke stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Spitfires incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
