Simmonds' big game bests M1 Western Michigan University in 6-2 M1 Davenport University win

Behind a great game by Jordan Simmonds, who had two goals and one assist, the M1 Davenport University Panthers defeated the M1 Western Michigan University Stallions, 6-2.

Simmonds found the back of the net 7:47 into the second period to make the score 3-0 M1 Davenport University and again while 12:43 into the third to make the score 6-2 M1 Davenport University.

M1 Davenport University put 44 shots on net during the contest, more than the 3.0 it averages per game.

M1 Davenport University additionally got points from Matt Ogden, who also registered two goals and one assist, Cameron Dimmitt, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Travis White, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Davenport University received assists from Cody Walsh, Aaron Beally, and Walker Aurand, who contributed one each and Chris Eckler and Everett Thompson, who each chipped in two.

M1 Western Michigan University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Stallions were held below their usual level of production. M1 Western Michigan University puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game.
