M1 Syracuse University falls to M1 Stony Brook University after surprising comeback

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the M1 Stony Brook University Seawolves battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the M1 Syracuse University Orange.

M1 Stony Brook University never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Seawolves trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by M1 Syracuse University's Nolan Metzler at 14:53 in the first period. M1 Stony Brook University knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Frank Coscia at 7:28 in the second period. The Seawolves got the game winner at 12:42 in the second period on a goal by Coscia.

M1 Stony Brook University was paced by Eddie Osowski, who grabbed one goal.

The Seawolves kept the Orange's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jaime Ketchabaw made 35 saves on 38 shots.

M1 Stony Brook University also got points from Coscia, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler Underhill also scored for M1 Stony Brook University. In addition, M1 Stony Brook University received assists from Joe Heffernan, Dalton Gilbert, Justin Lazalde, Matthew Crockett, and Joseph Bochichio, who contributed one each.

M1 Syracuse University put 25 shots on net during the contest, more than the 3.5 it averages per game.

M1 Syracuse University also got a goal from Keith Lambert as well. More assists for M1 Syracuse University came via Thomas DiPasquale, John Ross LaPointe, and Matthew DiVietro, who each chipped in one.

Derek Willms made 23 saves for M1 Stony Brook University on 25 shots. The Seawolves incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Orange totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For M1 Syracuse University, Robert VanRaamsdonk was ejected from the game.
