M1 Syracuse University outlasts M1 Illinois ^ University of, 5-3

The M1 Syracuse University Orange and the M1 Illinois ^ University of Fighting Illini were evenly matched throughout their contest, but M1 Syracuse University made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Keith Lambert at 12:44 of the second period.

Lambert was all over the ice for the Orange, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win.

M1 Syracuse University's penalty kill excelled, as the Orange gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

M1 Syracuse University stifled M1 Illinois ^ University of's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Orange's offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 3.5 shots per game they average.

M1 Syracuse University additionally got points from Connor McNamara, who also registered one goal and one assist and John Ross LaPointe, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Illinois ^ University of received assists from James McGing and Tyler Opilka, who each chipped in two.
