Caledon survives Penetang comeback, wins 5-4

The Penetang Kings tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Caledon Golden Hawks held on for a 5-4 victory.

A goal by Nicholas McNutt put Caledon up 5-3 in the third period, but Penetang pulled to within one on Matt Meher's tally 19:36 into the third period.

With the win, the Golden Hawks avoided elimination to make the series score 3-3 in the best of seven series.

Caledon stifled the Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Hawks forced Penetang goalie Andrew North to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Caledon additionally got points from John Cyfko, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Ryan Mouser, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Caledon were Matt Magliozzi, who had two and Randy Chen, Tyler Whitten, and James Pitsadiotis, who each chipped in one.

The Kings' offense rang up 43 shots on Caledon's net.

Penetang also got points from Craig Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Penetang also got a goal from Nate Archer as well. More assists for Penetang came via Dallin Blunt, Nick Heins, Ben Sly, and Brad Kuepfer, who contributed one each.

Sam Procopio recorded 39 saves for the Golden Hawks. Caledon incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Andrew North made 30 saves for Penetang on 34 shots. The Kings incurred 58 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
