Leamington downs St. Marys, 7-3

The St. Marys Lincolns lost to the Leamington Flyers, 7-3.

Leamington's offense rang up 56 shots on St. Marys' net. The Flyers outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Leamington averages 4.1 goals per contest.

The Flyers were helped by Scott Emerson, who tallied one goal. Emerson scored on the power play 1:23 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Leamington. J.P. Grineau picked up the assist. Leamington also got points from Cale Phibbs, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Colin Moore, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Matthew Opblinger, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Scott Florence, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Leamington included Mark Manchurek and David Storey, who each put in one. More assists for Leamington came via Zak Parlette, who had one, Aaron Langlois, who had three, and Mitchell Amante and Mark Gangnon, who contributed two each.

The Lincolns were led by Ryan Martin, who registered two goals and one assist. Martin scored the first of his two goals at 3:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Marys. Dan Cloutier provided the assist. Martin's next tally made the score 3-0 St. Marys with 10:37 left in the first period. Nolan King also scored for St. Marys.

Michael Barrett made three saves before being replaced by Tyler Wall, who took the win and made 13 saves. Leamington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Paul Town made 49 saves for St. Marys on 56 shots. The Lincolns incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. St. Marys ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Martin was ejected from the game.
