The Hagersville Hawks tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Glanbrook Rangers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Glanbrook made the score 4-1 on a goal by Brett Farrelly at 19:51 in the second period, and Hagersville got as close as 4-3 when Matt Rimac scored 18:58 into the third period. The win gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Chris Haigh, Justin Whitwell, and Connor Maitz, who scored one goal each. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Noah Matteson, who had two and Michael Fortino and Nicholas Sherwood, who each chipped in one. The Hawks forced Glanbrook goalie Alex Horawski to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Hagersville also got points from Mitch Green, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Davis Brown also scored for Hagersville. More assists for Hagersville came via Max Gunter, Cole Martin, Derek Friesen, and MIchael Arch, who contributed one each. The Rangers' Horawski stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Glanbrook incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Stephen Tierney made 24 saves for Hagersville on 28 shots. The Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
