Port Perry downs Uxbridge in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Uxbridge Arena Tue, Feb 16, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Perry Mojacks pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Uxbridge Bruins on a clutch goal by Jordan McCullough. The win gave Port Perry a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Mojacks came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Port Perry was down 2-0 after a power play goal by Uxbridge's Marco Mastrangelo at 13:30 in the third period. The Mojacks knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Lucas Berkers at 19:44 in the third period. Port Perry was led by McCullough, who finished with one goal. McCullough scored 3:24 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Port Perry. Kyle Schweda provided the assist. The Bruins were unable to stop the Mojacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Perry eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Team could not crack Uxbridge's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 13 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Konrad Piorkowski also scored for Port Perry. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Chris Polito and Jeff St. Pierre, who contributed one each. More assists for Uxbridge came via Jordan Nesbitt and Brett Thomson, who each chipped in one. Brett Chandler made 24 saves for the Mojacks on 26 shots. Port Perry incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Bruins' Branden Francey stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Uxbridge incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors.
