Springfield falls to Ridley in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Aston Ice Works Thu, Feb 25, 2016 Ridley pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Springfield on a clutch goal by Nick Catona. Catona had two goals and one assist to lead Ridley. Catona scored the first of his two goals at 3:21 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Michael Giampapa assisted on the tally. Catona's next tally made the score 4-3 Ridley with 17:14 left in overtime. Giampapa picked up the assist. Ridley did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Ridley averages 7.0 goals per game. Ridley forced Springfield goalie Calin Losacco to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Ridley also got points from Giampapa, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Michael Desio also scored for Ridley. More assists for Ridley came via Colin McCann and Jake Cross, who contributed one each. Springfield excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Springfield was held below its usual level of production. Springfield puts an average of 7.2 pucks into the net per game. Springfield was led by Tyler Riddle, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Riddle scored the first of his two goals at 1:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Springfield. Jim Schickling assisted on the tally.
