Faller, Avon Grove blank Sun Valley, 10-0Patriot Ice NHL Wed, Feb 24, 2016 Avon Grove used a sparkling performance by Cameron Faller to take down Sun Valley, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Avon Grove's 10-0 shutout victory. Avon Grove got the win with help from a great game by Brendan Harman, who had two goals and one assist. Harman scored the first of his two goals at 3:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Avon Grove. Ryan Hassiepen picked up the assist. Harman's next tally made the score 4-0 Avon Grove with 19:43 left in the second period. Hassiepen provided the assist. Avon Grove put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Sun Valley to score on any of its four power plays. Avon Grove forced Sun Valley goalie Nicholas Tkacz to work between the pipes, taking 89 shots. Avon Grove bested its season scoring average. Avon Grove averages 6.4 goals per game. Avon Grove also got points from Kelvin DeFeo, who also registered two goals and one assist, Hassiepen, who also tallied one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, and George DiFrancesco, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Avon Grove also got a goal from Matt Miller as well. In addition, Avon Grove received assists from Brady Anderson, who had one and Ryan Nichol and Joshua Sepela, who each chipped in two. Sun Valley managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Sun Valley ended up below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Sun Valley could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Sun Valley averages 3.9 goals per game. Avon Grove was unable to stop Sun Valley from sending pucks towards the net, and Sun Valley eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Faller rejected 37 shots on goal for Avon Grove. Avon Grove incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tkacz recorded 79 saves for Sun Valley.
