Avon Grove takes care of Interboro early, wins 7-1

Avon Grove jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Interboro, 7-1.

Matt Miller had one goal and two assists to lead Avon Grove. Miller scored 5:41 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Avon Grove. Ryan Stab picked up the assist.

Avon Grove's penalty kill excelled, as Avon Grove gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

Team could not crack Interboro's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 14 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Avon Grove was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Avon Grove also got points from Stab, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ryan Nichol, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Avon Grove also had goals scored by Alex Faller, who had two and Brendan Harman and George DiFrancesco, who scored one goal each. In addition, Avon Grove received assists from Kelvin DeFeo, who had two, Jake Beck, who had three, and Mark Wooten, Brady Anderson, and Austin Nichol, who each chipped in one.

Interboro did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Interboro puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. Avon Grove's defense shut down Interboro's forwards for much of the game, and Interboro got off only four shots during the contest. Interboro could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 60 minutes in penalties during the game.

Cameron Faller recorded three saves for Avon Grove. Matt Whitham made 14 saves for Interboro on 21 shots. For Interboro, Kevin Oreskovich and Mike Chamberlin were ejected from the contest.
