Archbishop Ryan pulls away in second, rolls over Bishop Shanahan, 7-0

Bishop Shanahan allowed Archbishop Ryan to net four goals during the second period and fell, 7-0.

Archbishop Ryan got the win thanks to a great game by Shawn Connolly, who had two goals and one assist. Connolly scored the first of his two goals at 11:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Archbishop Ryan. Joe Wixted picked up the assist. Connolly's next tally made the score 4-0 Archbishop Ryan with 6:17 left in the second period. A tripping call on Blaze Ferris put Archbishop Ryan on the penalty kill.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 15:51 into the third period. Three fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Archbishop Ryan featured an improved defense during the game. Archbishop Ryan allows 2.9 goals per game. Archbishop Ryan forced Bishop Shanahan goalie Alex DeGarmo to work between the pipes, taking 62 shots.

Archbishop Ryan additionally got points from Ferris, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tyler Giwerowski, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Archbishop Ryan also had goals scored by Sean Boyle, Mark Cirelli, and Kevin McCarthy, who scored one goal each. In addition, Archbishop Ryan received assists from Jonathan Kernahan, Ryan Hearn, Ryan Ferris, Scott Nowosielski, and Dominick Cerceo, who each chipped in one.

Bishop Shanahan racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and three majors for 57 minutes in penalty time. Bishop Shanahan surpassed its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game. Bishop Shanahan could not produce up to its normal offensive output.
