M1 Rhode Island ^ University of beats M1 Rutgers University 3-2 after comeback scare

The M1 Rhode Island ^ University of Rams survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Rutgers University Scarlet Knights on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Robbie Buehrer put M1 Rhode Island ^ University of up 3-1 in the third period, but M1 Rutgers University pulled to within one on Mitch Crenshaw's tally 14:13 into the third period.

The Rams got the win on the strength of a great game by Buehrer, who had two goals and one assist. Buehrer scored the first of his two goals at 8:13 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ray Boudiette provided the assist. Buehrer's next tally made the score 3-1 M1 Rhode Island ^ University of with 6:49 left in the third period. Boudiette assisted on the tally.

M1 Rhode Island ^ University of managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Rams wound up below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. M1 Rhode Island ^ University of put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.7 it averages per game.

M1 Rhode Island ^ University of also got points from Boudiette, who also tallied one goal and two assists. In addition, M1 Rhode Island ^ University of received assists from Nate Bastian, who had two.
