Huge game by Nickles boosts Mt.Brydges over Lucan, 7-2Tritownship Fri, Feb 12, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs' Danny Nickles had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 7-2 win over the Lucan Irish. Nickles scored on the power play 1:28 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mt.Brydges. Reed Horvat assisted on the tally. Mt.Brydges' penalty kill excelled, as the Bulldogs gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Mt.Brydges forced Lucan goalie Tyler Beattie to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Bulldogs' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Mt.Brydges also got points from Alex Cox, who also racked up three goals and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Tyler Lockwood, Eric Maecker, Cameron Dewan, Mike Vandenelzen, and Jack Underhill, who contributed one each. The Irish were helped by Noah Campbell, who registered one goal. Campbell scored 41 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lucan. Nathan Marcil picked up the assist. Lucan additionally got points from Marcil, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Lucan received assists from Jamie Brzozowski, Connor Lyttle, and Dawson Cook, who each chipped in one. Noah Hedrick rejected 28 shots on goal for Mt.Brydges. The Bulldogs incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Beattie recorded 29 saves for Lucan. The Irish incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
