Christian Petrozza netted a hat trick to lead the Exeter Hawks over the Port Stanley Sailors, 11-1. Petrozza's first goal came 8:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:29 into the second and at 6:40 into the second.After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Port Stanley faces elimination next time out. The Sailors were stymied by Exeter's netminder Trevor Fleming, who stopped 30 shots during the victory. Fleming managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.33 prior to the game. The Hawks forced Sailors' netminders to work all game long, launching 53 shots and forcing 42 saves. Scott Gray made 18 stops and Dylan Hoover made 24. Exeter stifled Port Stanley's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Exeter additionally got points from Austin Elkin, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Tyler Kettler, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Sam Vokes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Brett Dalton, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Tyler Coleman, who also had one goal and two assists. Exeter also got a goal from Chase Thornton as well. More assists for Exeter came via Matt Clarke and Cody Perriam, who contributed one each, Max Bannon and Liam Melady, who each chipped in two, and Frasier Lewis and Max Naus, who contributed three each. The Sailors forced the Hawks goalie Fleming to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Christian Athanasiou also scored for Port Stanley. In addition, Port Stanley received assists from Anders Adjia and Derek Smith, who each chipped in one. Exeter incurred 50 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Melady was ejected from the game. Port Stanley incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
