Colin Sartor gave the Lakeshore Canadiens a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Mooretown Flags when he scored 9:53 into the extra period. The win gave Lakeshore a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Canadiens' penalty kill excelled, as Lakeshore gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Canadiens were led by Sartor, who finished with one goal. Lakeshore stifled Mooretown's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Canadiens' offense rang up 59 shots on the Flags' net. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Jarrett Tazzman and Sebastian Kanally, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from Michael Long, who had two and Joe Binder, Zack Bedard, and Colin Tetreault, who contributed one each. Mooretown forced Lakeshore goalie Tetreault to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Flags were helped by Ben Morrison, who registered one goal. Morrison scored 19:47 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Ryan Lyle assisted on the tally. Joe DeSena also scored for Mooretown. More assists for Mooretown came via Matt Brandon, who had two. Colin Tetreault made 38 saves for the Canadiens on 40 shots. Lakeshore incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brandon Johnson recorded 56 saves for Mooretown. The Flags incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
