Kincardine outlasts Goderich, 6-4

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Kincardine Bulldogs escaped with a 6-4 victory over the Goderich Flyers.

Kincardine gained the winning advantage on a goal by Shawn Moore 8:44 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Goderich faces elimination next time out.

The Bulldogs got the win on the strength of a great game by Tyler Fregona, who had one goal and three assists. Fregona scored 11:40 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Kincardine. Gerrit Satosek provided the assist.

The Flyers were unable to stop Kincardine from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulldogs eventually piled up 53 shots on goal. Kincardine had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on 10 chances.

Kincardine additionally got points from Satosek, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Moore, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Kincardine included Logan Freiburger and Matthew Mah, who each put in one. More assists for Kincardine came via Brady Richards and Patrick Wiejak, who contributed one each.

Goderich was led by Trent Michie, who had three goals. Goderich also got points from Jordan Pepper, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Goderich received assists from Brody Tempass, who had two and Brandon Priestap, Mitch Kuik, and Jesse McIntyre, who each chipped in one.

Jacob Hutchings made 19 saves for the Bulldogs on 23 shots. Kincardine incurred 70 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Bulldogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Shawn Rooke was ejected from the game. Nathan Watson recorded 47 saves for the Flyers. Goderich incurred 48 minutes in penalty time with 14 minors. Team's Wyatt Carey and Drew McKee were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
