The Alvinston Flyers could not stop the Essex 73s' Michael Vieira, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-1 win. Vieira's first goal came 14:16 into the second period. He then added goals at 16:23 into the second and at 17:51 into the second.The win by Essex clinched the best of seven series at 4-0. The 73s forced Alvinston goalie Matt Boere to work between the pipes, taking 60 shots. Essex also got points from Adam Gaiarin, who also registered one goal and two assists, Tyler Scott, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Dalton Langlois, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Cody Leeming, who had two and Matthew Rosati, Anthony Cristofaro, Eric Shaw, Matthew Hebert, and Dallas Pereira, who each chipped in one. Matt Badour made 15 saves for Essex on 16 shots. The 73s totaled 44 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 3-for-6 on the power play. For Essex, Rosati and Phil Janikowski were ejected from the contest. The Flyers' Boere stopped 54 shots out of the 60 that he faced. Alvinston totaled 74 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and two majors and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Team's Fraser Wilson, Joe Stock, and Karsten Berg were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. |
