M3-Neumann University uses shootout to best M3-Rowan University, 5-4 (3-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as M3-Neumann University defeated M3-Rowan University in a shootout 5-4 (3-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for 12 attempts between the teams. M3-Rowan University's shootout goal was scored by Marty Bell. M3-Neumann University also got shootout goals from Aidan Board and Peter Dimartino.

M3-Neumann University saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. M3-Neumann University made the score 4-2 on a goal by Connor Mccanney at 19:28 in the second period. M3-Rowan University evened things up at 4-4 on a goal by John Cascio at 19:16 in the third period.

Mccanney was all over the ice for M3-Neumann University, as he had two goals in the win.

M3-Neumann University forced M3-Rowan University goalie Ryan Mccusker to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Others who scored for M3-Neumann University included Dimartino and Matt O Shaughnessy, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for M3-Neumann University were William Gregg, who had two and Kyle Connolly, Jan Mamrilla, and Tyler Kraft, who contributed one each.

M3-Rowan University managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. M3-Rowan University ended up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. M3-Rowan University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 29 shots on goal during the game, better than the 0.3 shots per game it averages.

M3-Rowan University was led by Dennis Padick, who registered one goal and two assists. Padick scored 15:43 into the first period to make the score 2-1 M3-Neumann University. Bell assisted on the tally. M3-Rowan University also had goals scored by Nicholas Scarangella and Eric Bell, who each put in one. In addition, M3-Rowan University received assists from Lenny Coviello and Brandon Mead, who each chipped in one.

Michael Maczynski made 25 saves for M3-Neumann University on 29 shots. M3-Neumann University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mccusker recorded 43 saves for M3-Rowan University. M3-Rowan University registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
