NA3HL 18U Selects Red beats South 8-2 as Laukaitis gets hat trick

Arturas Laukaitis netted a hat trick to lead NA3HL 18U Selects Red over South, 8-2.

Laukaitis' first goal came 6:13 into the second period. He then added goals at 11:09 into the second and at 14:11 into the third.

NA3HL 18U Selects Red forced South's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 44 shots and forcing 36 saves. Sean Angle made 17 stops and Brandon Perrone made 19.

NA3HL 18U Selects Red also got points from Philip Pugliese, who also registered one goal and two assists. NA3HL 18U Selects Red also had goals scored by Logan Nelson, who had two and Zac McKenna and Luc Kreuser, who scored one goal each. In addition, NA3HL 18U Selects Red received assists from Jake Cox, who had two and Tomas Loeffelman, Logan Orem, and Andrej Buchko, who each chipped in one.

South was led by Alex Johanson, who racked up one goal. Johanson scored 5:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 South. Kayne Fedor picked up the assist. South also got a goal from Kyle Rimbach as well. Other players who recorded assists for South were Andrew Cooley and Jacob Elrod, who contributed one each.

Zach Young took the win and made 16 saves before being replaced by Tyler Myers who made seven saves. NA3HL 18U Selects Red finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage. South ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
