Frontier survives South comeback, wins 6-4

South tried to dig itself out of a four-goal hole, but Frontier held on for a 6-4 victory.

Frontier took a 6-2 lead during the third period, only to have South storm back on a Alex Johanson goal 16:00 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Tristan Henrichs had two goals to lead Frontier to victory. Henrichs found the back of the net 13:51 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Frontier and again while 4:05 into the second to make the score 4-2 Frontier.

Frontier managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Frontier ended up below its season average of 3.0 penalty minutes per game. Frontier's offense rang up 45 shots on South's net.

Frontier also got points from Nicholas Thompson, who also had one goal and one assist. Frontier also had goals scored by Josh Larson, Cade Boreing, and Nick Greene, who scored one goal each. In addition, Frontier received assists from Arseny Ivanov, who had three and Alex King and Max Doner, who each chipped in one.

South forced Frontier's goalies to work all game long, getting 38 shots and forcing 34 saves. Stephen Frank made 17 stops and Jake Stephan made 17. South did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

South was helped by Ryan Dunner, who registered one goal. Dunner scored 11:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Victor Ekk provided the assist. South additionally got points from Ekk, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. South also got a goal from Kyle Rimbach as well. Other players who recorded assists for South were Andrew Cooley, Kayne Fedor, Justin Dunn, and Colin OConnor, who contributed one each.

Frontier registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. South's Brandon Perrone stopped 39 shots out of the 45 that he faced. South registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
