The Thorold Athletics survived a determined comeback attempt by the Dundas Real McCoys on the way to a 5-4 win.

Thorold made the score 5-1 on a goal by Jay Hill at 5:47 in the third period, and Dundas got as close as 5-4 when Brad Bonello scored 14:21 into the third period.

The Athletics' offense rang up 38 shots on the Real McCoys' net.

Thorold additionally got points from JJ Martin, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points and Tyler Turcotte, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Thorold were Tony Geldart and Ben MacAskill, who contributed one each.

Thorold was unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Real McCoys eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Dundas was helped by Scott Stafford, who registered one goal. Stafford scored 13:53 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Thorold. Bonello picked up the assist. Dundas also got points from Bonello, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dundas also got a goal from Curtis Campbell as well. In addition, Dundas received assists from Simon Mangos, Jordan Foreman, Jeff White, and Trevor Atkinson, who each chipped in one.

The Athletics' Frank Novello stopped 44 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Thorold incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mike Mole made 33 saves for the Real McCoys on 38 shots. Dundas incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
