Port Hope rolls over Campbellford, 7-1

The Campbellford Rebels had trouble finding ways to stop the Port Hope Panthers, which beat Rebels, 7-1.

Port Hope's offense was sparked by Dalton Lawrence, as he ended with five assists in a victory against Campbellford.

The Panthers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rebels to score on any of their four power plays. Port Hope forced Campbellford goalie Stark Travis AP to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Panthers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

Port Hope also got points from Cameron McGill, who also registered one goal and one assist and Evan Foley, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Port Hope also had goals scored by Blane Gaudon, who had three and Matthew Hunt and Jon Campbell, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Dan Lagrois, who had three and Andrew Gurr and Shawn Mackie, who contributed one each.

The Rebels' offense were handcuffed by Port Hope's defensive play, and Campbellford managed only 13 shots on goal during the game. The Rebels' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to the Panthers' power play unit. Campbellford could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Port Hope's Aaron Young stopped 12 shots out of the 13 that he faced. The Panthers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tyler Wicks was ejected from the game. Stark Travis AP made 28 saves for the Rebels on 35 shots.
