Lansdale Catholic survives penalties, beats Methacton, 4-0Oaks Center Ice Fri, Jan 15, 2016 Methacton failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Lansdale Catholic shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-0. Lansdale Catholic was led by Kevin Longhitano, who tallied one goal. Longhitano scored 6:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lansdale Catholic. Jon Nace picked up the assist. Lansdale Catholic put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Methacton to score on any of its seven power plays. Lansdale Catholic outdid its season average for goals scored. Lansdale Catholic has scored at the pace of 1.3 goal per game during the current campaign. Lansdale Catholic got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game. Lansdale Catholic could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Lansdale Catholic also got a goal from Kyle Macy as well. In addition, Lansdale Catholic received assists from Vincent Scialla, who had one. Methacton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lansdale Catholic power plays. Domonic Van recorded 19 saves for Lansdale Catholic. Shane Cassady made 25 saves for Methacton on 29 shots. Methacton incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
