Ridley College rolls over Nichols School, 8-3

The Ridley College Tigers had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-3 win over the Nichols School Vikings.

Ridley College got the win with help from a great game by Andrew McIntyre, who had two goals and one assist. McIntyre scored the first of his two goals at 11:18 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cole Cameron assisted on the tally. McIntyre's next tally made the score 5-1 Ridley College with 17:46 left in the second period. Matvey Skripchenko picked up the assist.

The Tigers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Ridley College averages 4.3 goals per contest. The Tigers capitalized on Nichols School's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Ridley College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Ridley College also got points from Carson Edwardson, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Brandon Skubel, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Connor Hill, who also had two goals and one assist. Ridley College also had goals scored by Ryan Mahshie and Cameron Beaudry, who each put in one. In addition, Ridley College received assists from Hunter Randell, who had two and Hunter Bettens and Chris McGonigle, who contributed one each.

The Tigers were unable to stop the Vikings from sending pucks towards the net, and Nichols School eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Vikings were helped by Cole Donhauser, who registered one goal. Donhauser scored on the power play 6:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nichols School. Nichols School had gotten the advantage when Ridley College's Cameron was sent off for interference. Steve Senese provided the assist. Others who scored for Nichols School included Brett Willits and Erik Urbank, who scored one goal each. More assists for Nichols School came via Matt Gasuik, who had two and Anthony Scanzuso, Tom Elia, and Jack Millar, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers' McGonigle stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Josh Graziano took the loss and made four saves before being replaced by Jerry Baerwitz who made eight saves. The Vikings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
