M1 Canisius College beats M1 Non-ACHA Team 6-5 as Bork gets hat trick

Brandon Bork netted a hat trick to lead the M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins over M1 Non-ACHA Team, 6-5.

Bork got on the scoresheet 9:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:25 into the first and at 12:33 into the third.

M1 Canisius College led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Golden Griffins' Connor Mckenna scored at 17:32 in the first period to put M1 Canisius College up 3-0.

The Golden Griffins' penalty kill excelled, as M1 Canisius College gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

The Golden Griffins stifled M1 Non-ACHA Team's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M1 Canisius College's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Golden Griffins finished with 16 penalty minutes.

M1 Canisius College also got points from Chris Jerge, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Andrew Ferrentino, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for M1 Canisius College came via Matthew Muszynski, Jess Hackett, and Zachary Grace, who each chipped in one and Nathan Smith and Jesse Caulkins, who contributed two each.

M1 Non-ACHA Team excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The 44 shots that M1 Non-ACHA Team put on net surpassed M1 Non-ACHA Team's average of 1.9 shot per game this season.

M1 Non-ACHA Team was helped by Number Twenty-Two, who registered one goal. Twenty-Two scored 14 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Canisius College. Number Ten picked up the assist. M1 Non-ACHA Team additionally got points from Number Thirteen, who also had one goal and one assist and Number Twenty-One, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M1 Non-ACHA Team also had goals scored by Number Two and Number Fourteen, who scored one goal each. In addition, M1 Non-ACHA Team received assists from Number Four, Number Eighteen, and Number Twenty-Three, who each chipped in one.

Hiroyasu Takahashi made 39 saves for M1 Canisius College on 44 shots. M1 Non-ACHA Team took out Number One after he had made 20 saves and installed Number Thirty-One in goal, where he finished with four saves and the loss. M1 Non-ACHA Team incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
