Omaha AAA 16U blows out HC Dallas 16U, 5-0

Omaha AAA 16U had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over HC Dallas 16U.

Logan Will was all over the ice for Omaha AAA 16U, as he tallied two goals in the win. Will scored at 9:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Omaha AAA 16U and again while 5:16 into the second to make the score 4-0 Omaha AAA 16U.

Omaha AAA 16U's penalty kill excelled, as Omaha AAA 16U gave up zero goals despite allowing 12 power plays.

Omaha AAA 16U stifled HC Dallas 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Omaha AAA 16U kept HC Dallas 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bryce Murphy made 28 saves on 33 shots. Omaha AAA 16U got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Omaha AAA 16U was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 46 penalty minutes.

Omaha AAA 16U also got points from Jackson Decker, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Omaha AAA 16U included Kendrick Frost and Gabe Wahl, who scored one goal each. In addition, Omaha AAA 16U received assists from Kyle Kawamura, who had two, Garrett Anderson, who had three, and Fletcher Fineman, Chaz Rometty, and Luke Suter, who contributed one each.

HC Dallas 16U did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. HC Dallas 16U averages 2.8 goals per game. HC Dallas 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Omaha AAA 16U's Maximilian Haselbacher stopped 18 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Omaha AAA 16U registered two goals on eight power play opportunities.
