Shaw Boomhower had one point to lead the Wellington Dukes to a 4-1 victory over the Newmarket Hurricanes. Wellington's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Newmarket power plays. The Dukes kept Newmarket's goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Ryckman made 32 saves on 36 shots. Wellington additionally got points from Luc Brown, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Chase St Aubin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Dylan Mascarin also scored for Wellington. Other players who recorded assists for Wellington were Austin Labelle, Jake Falcao, and Ben Sokay, who each chipped in one. The Hurricanes stifled Wellington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Newmarket was led by Marco Bozzo, who scored the team's only goal. Bozzo scored 6:05 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Wellington. Steve Mariani assisted on the tally. The Dukes' Olivier Lafreniere stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced.
