M1 Binghamton University hangs on, beats M1 Non-ACHA Team 2-1

Peter Russo scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the M1 Binghamton University Bearcats held off the challenges of M1 Non-ACHA Team in a tough 2-1 win.

Russo provided M1 Binghamton University with the game-winning tally when he scored 5:08 into the first period. The Bearcats had taken the advantage when M1 Non-ACHA Team's Number Twenty-Six got sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Russo had two goals to lead M1 Binghamton University to victory.

M1 Non-ACHA Team was stymied by the Bearcats' netminder Ryan Gallagher, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. Gallagher certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.71 entering the contest.

M1 Binghamton University's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 11 minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. The Bearcats surpassed its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. M1 Binghamton University kept M1 Non-ACHA Team's goalie busy throughout the game, and Number Thirty-One made 35 saves on 37 shots.
