M2 Hamline University beats M2 Non-ACHA Team 5-3 as Swanberg gets hat trick

Jack Swanberg netted a hat trick to lead M2 Hamline University over M2 Non-ACHA Team, 5-3.

Swanberg's first goal came 7:26 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:55 into the first and at 12:40 into the third.

M2 Hamline University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 0.8 shots per game it averages.

M2 Hamline University also had goals scored by Brenden Shanley and Matthew Schwartz, who scored one goal each. More assists for M2 Hamline University came via Tom Monteiro, who had three, Brandon Puterbaugh and Nick Heimer, who contributed one each, and Max Rasmussen and Karel Popper, who each chipped in two.

M2 Non-ACHA Team kept M2 Hamline University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Heimer made 33 saves on 36 shots.

M2 Non-ACHA Team was helped by Number Twenty-Two, who tallied two goals. Twenty-Two scored the first of his two goals at 1:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M2 Non-ACHA Team. Number Twenty-Three picked up the assist. Twenty-Two's next tally made the score 3-2 M2 Non-ACHA Team with 4:16 left in the second period. Twenty-Three assisted on the tally. M2 Non-ACHA Team additionally got points from Twenty-Three, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, M2 Non-ACHA Team received assists from Number Two, Number Ten, and Number Twenty-Three, who contributed one each.

M2 Hamline University finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-2 with the man advantage. Number Thirty made 29 saves for M2 Non-ACHA Team on 33 shots. M2 Non-ACHA Team incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
