Behind a great game by Sam Banasiewicz, who had four goals and one assist, the M2 North Carolina State University Wolfpack defeated the M2 Elon University Phoenix, 8-2.

Banasiewicz's first goal came 19:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:27 into the second, at 14:51 into the second, and at 14:52 into the third.

M2 North Carolina State University pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 10 penalty minutes.

The Wolfpack forced Phoenix's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 37 shots and forcing 29 saves. Garrett Johnston made 23 stops and Michael Sebetic made six. M2 North Carolina State University stifled M2 Elon University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

M2 North Carolina State University additionally got points from Jack Macdonald, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Addison Oliver, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Luis Gimenez Madill, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. M2 North Carolina State University also got a goal from Garrett Sunda as well. More assists for M2 North Carolina State University came via Will Biberdorf, who had two and Andrew Kristof, Tyler Alfonzetti, Andrew Cooke, Sean Blye, and Simon Lechter, who each chipped in one.

The Phoenix could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

M2 Elon University was helped by Hayden Lowry, who finished with one goal. Lowry scored 5:33 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M2 North Carolina State University. Brian Cassidy picked up the assist. Sam Sarath also scored for M2 Elon University. In addition, M2 Elon University received assists from Conor Scharlop and Bradley Marcolini, who contributed one each.

The Wolfpack's Brian Nelson stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. M2 North Carolina State University registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. The Phoenix registered zero goals on six power play opportunities.
