Gandolfo's hat trick boosts M3-Northwestern over M2 Eastern Illinois University, 8-4

Alexander Gandolfo netted a hat trick to lead M3-Northwestern over M2 Eastern Illinois University, 8-4.

Gandolfo's first goal came 14:24 into the second period. He then added goals at 6:13 into the third and at 8:39 into the third.

M3-Northwestern forced M2 Eastern Illinois University goalie Zach Peifer to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. M3-Northwestern surpassed its usual scoring output this season. M3-Northwestern averages 3.5 goals per game. M3-Northwestern got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

M3-Northwestern also got points from Mike Fuentes, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Michael Flynn, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nick Nelson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M3-Northwestern included Shane Flynn and Brendan OConnell, who each put in one.
